784,505. Planing. WALDRICH, O. Oct. 20, 1953, No. 28985/53. Class 83 (3). A two-column planing-machine comprises a horizontal cross-beam 5 provided with lateral guides 5a and clamping means 18 which extend equally in an upward and/or downward direction beyond the height of the crossbeam itself. The beam has a boxlike extension 7 extending between the columns 6 and guided and clamped by means 19, which also extend beyond the height of the beam itself. The clamps 18, 19 are actuated simultaneously by a screw 22 acting through levers 23, 24. The screw 22 may be driven through a friction clutch by hydraulic means, which automatically clamps the beam whenever it is stationary. |
