PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide diacylhydrazine ligands and chiral diacylhydrazine ligands for use with ecdysone receptor-based inducible gene expression systems useful for modulating expression of a target gene of interest in a host cell.SOLUTION: The invention provides: a compound represented by the formula 1 or a pharmacologically acceptable salt, hydrate, crystalline form or amorphous form thereof; and a pharmaceutical composition comprising the compound represented by the formula 1.
