PURPOSE: To provide an information processor capable of determining which of an information processor and a storage device has broken down.CONSTITUTION: In an information processor on and to which a memory module is attachably and detachably mounted and connected, an ECC coding part adds an error correction code to data to generate coded data, and a first error detection part performs error detection and correction processing to the data, and a first abnormality detection part supplies a first abnormality detection signal indicting the presence/absence of an error included in the data to a failure portion determination part. The memory module includes: a second error detection part and a second abnormality detection part, and the second error detection part performs error detection and correction processing to the data separately from the information processor, and the second abnormality detection part supplies a second abnormality detection signal to the failure portion determination part on the basis of the result of the error detection and correction processing. The failure portion determination part determines which of the information processor main body and the memory module has broken down on the basis of the first abnormality detection signal and the second abnormality detection signal.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
