摘要 An electrothermal deployment system is configured for controlled deployment of various devices from pre-launch stowage locations in small satellites. The deployment system includes fusion lines fixed to a structural component of the satellite, as well as to various deployable apparatus secured to, within, or on the satellite. The deployment apparatus can include items such as solar panels and antennas. The deployment system includes an electrical resistance device, such as a combustion bar in the shape of a cylinder or tube while including a resistor pad which is arranged and/or incorporated within the outer surface of the combustion bar. To melt the fusion line fixed to come in direct contact with the resistor, the combustion bar can be coupled to an electric circuit to heat a resistor. The fusion line is configured to be fixed to and come in contact with the resistor until a device is deployed.
