POLYMER NANOPARTICLE FOR REGULATING PERMEABILITY AND FIBER VOLUME FRACTION OF COMPLEX

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber volume fraction regulating technique by polymer nanoparticle.SOLUTION: A fiber tow contains multiple reinforced filaments 158 that have respective filament cross-sectional width and can bind at least a part of polymer nanoparticles 200 with at least one of the reinforced filaments 158 and/or other polymer nanoparticle 200. The polymer nanoparticle 200 has a particle cross-sectional width, which is smaller than the cross-sectional width of the reinforced filament 158. In order to reduce or prevent direct contact between the reinforced filaments 158, a local filament distance 166 between the reinforced filaments 158 can be obtained by the polymer nanoparticle 200 so that the resin can flow between the filaments 158 and/or the requirement of the fiber volume fraction is satisfied.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
