PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fiber treatment agent for short fiber excellent in coiling property at high speed drawing and a short fiber to which the treatment agent added.SOLUTION: There is provided a fiber treatment agent for short fiber containing a compound (A) which is an organic phosphorus compound represented by the general formula (1) and a compound which is a specific polyoxyalkylene compound (B) as essential components, with percentage of the compound (A) represented by the formula (2), weight ratio of the compound (A) and the compound (B) (A/B) of specific ratio and weight percentage of inorganic phosphoric acid of 1 wt.% or less.
