GENERATING CONSUMER-ORIENTED APIs FROM A UI MODEL

Various embodiments of systems and methods to generate consumer-oriented APIs from a UI model are described herein. In one aspect, a unique identifier is assigned to a node, and corresponding elements and actions of an ADM. The elements and actions associated with the node are mapped to one or more UI elements of an application UI using the assigned unique identifier. A service definition is derived from the UI elements and the UI actions by interacting with the application UI. Further, an API is generated based on the service definition. The generated API is independent from the application UI.

1. A non-transitory computer-readable medium storing instructions, which when executed by a computer cause the computer to perform operations comprising:
assign unique identifiers to one or more elements and one more actions associated with a node of an abstract data model (ADM); map the one or more elements and the one or more actions to one or more user interface (UI) elements and one or more UI actions of an application UI using the assigned unique identifiers; derive a service definition from the one or more UI elements and the one or more UI actions based on an input received during interaction with the application UI; and generate a consumer-specific application programming interface (API), independent of a UI model, based on the derived service definition.
