A collision detection method is provided. A collision detection method according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises the steps of: obtaining first and second resampling data having a reduced amount of data by resampling first and second point cloud data for first and second structures, respectively; representing the first resampling data in a k-dimensional (KD)-tree data structure; and checking whether a collision occurs between the first structure and the second structure while a simulation for coupling the first structure and the second structure is performed using the first and second resampling data, wherein the step of checking whether a collision occurs comprises a step for detecting point data of the first resampling data, which is predicted to come into collision with one piece of point data of the second resampling data, by searching the KD-tree of the first resampling data.
