The present invention relates to a metallic object detecting device that includes a transmission coil part and a reception coil part to detect a magnitude of an induction current induced in the reception coil part due to an influence of a magnetic field caused by a current flowing through the transmission coil part, wherein a blind spot of a detection sensor, to which a magnetic force is not applied due to a mutual repulsive force caused by adjacent magnetic fields, is minimized by applying electric power having different frequencies to the adjacent transmission coils among a plurality of transmission coils of the transmission coil part and thus inducing the magnetic fields generated by the transmission coils such that the magnetic fields have different patterns, and it may be effectively detected whether a metallic object having a relatively small size, such as a stapler chip, is included in a bundle of bills, and a metallic object detecting method using the same. |
