摘要 The present invention relates to a composition comprising polypeptide based on an SMOC1-derived extracellular calcium binding (EC) domain fragment for promoting osteoblast differentiation and use thereof. More particularly, the present invention relates to a composition comprising the 399th-414th amino acid regions of SMOC1 as an active ingredient for promoting osteoblast differentiation and use thereof. In addition, the present invention relates to a method for promoting differentiation of stem cells into osteoblasts, including a step of treating stem cells with a polypeptide based on an SMOC1-derived EC domain fragment, and a method for producing a scaffold and an artificial bone comprising a polypeptide based on an SMOC1-derived EC domain fragment. The polypeptide based on an SMOC1-derived EC domain fragment according to the present invention is effective for promoting osteoblast differentiation, and thus can be used for tissue engineering applications for regenerating bones. In addition, the composition can be useful as an additive for acceleration of growth for treating bone formation-related diseases or bone regeneration.
