The present invention relates to an optical glass composition having a low melting point and high transmittance for fabricating a cover glass for lighting. More particularly, the optical glass composition having a low melting point and high transmittance for fabricating a cover glass for lighting comprises a CaO-MgO-Li_2O-Al_2O_3-P_2O_5 system as a main ingredient and has high transmittance of 90% or more and a low melting point of 500°C or less. The optical glass composition having a low melting point and high transmittance for fabricating a cover glass for lighting is characterized by comprising 5-10 mol% of CaO, 5-10 mol% of MgO, 15-20 mol% of Li_2O, 0-15 mol% of Al_2O_3, and 40-65 mol% of P_2O_5. |
