Provided is a pants-type disposable absorbent article whereby leakage of excrement from a waist opening can be prevented. A pants-type diaper (10) that: includes a front waist area (14), a rear waist area (15), a crotch area (16) positioned between the front and rear waist areas, and an absorbent core (58) positioned in at least the crotch area; and has a waist opening (22) and a pair of leg openings (23) demarcated by the joining of both side edges (18c, 18d, 19c, 19d) of the front and rear waist areas to each other. The separation distance (L1) in the vertical direction, from an outer edge (28b) of a leak-prevention sheet in the front waist area to a front opening edge, is greater than the separation distance (L2) in the vertical direction, from an outer edge (29b) of a leak-prevention sheet in the rear waist area to a rear opening edge. The separation distance (L3) in the vertical direction from a front edge of the absorbent core to the front opening edge is less than the separation distance (L5) in the vertical direction from the rear edge of the absorbent core to the rear opening edge. |
