PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a latch mechanism which can control noise at operation, and a drive force transmission device having the latch mechanism.SOLUTION: A latch mechanism 10 comprises: a piston ring 5 having a plurality of axial protrusions 51 in which locked parts 510 are formed at their tips; locking protrusions 19 which lock the piston ring 5; an armature 4 which presses the piston ring 5; an elastic member 7 which energizes the piston ring 5 to a direction opposite to a pressing direction by the armature 4; a yoke 30 which opposes the piston ring 5 in a radial direction; and an O-ring 8 which is arranged between the yoke 30 and the piston ring 5. In the piston ring 5, a first state that the locked parts 510 are locked to the locking protrusions 19 and a second state that the locked parts 510 are located between a pair of the adjacent locking protrusions 19 are switched with respect to each other accompanied by the advance/retreat movement of the armature 4, and in the piston ring 5, its axial movement is constrained by the slide resistance of the O-ring 8.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
