A method for processing application software in an SAN storage system, a server, a host and a system. The server sends a search request to application software on each host in a specified network segment in multicast mode; upon receiving the search request, the application software can feed back a search response message to the server according to its own situation, the search response message containing attribute information of the application software; and the server can process the application software according to the received search response message. That is to say, according to the technical solution of the present invention, a server can automatically discover each piece of application software on each host in multicast mode and perform centralized management according to a response of each piece of application software, so that centralized management on application software on the hosts is realized, and the defects such as scattered configuration management points, inconvenient software maintenance and unfriendly configuration interfaces in application software management on hosts in the related art are overcome. |
