PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of manufacturing a hard coat film that suppresses curling or wrinkling without deteriorating the hardness of the film surface, thereby preventing the problem of clouding caused by bleeding out or the like in a wet heat environment, and furthermore that has sufficient ultraviolet absorbability when a transparent support has a thickness of 25 μm or less, and also to provide such a hard coat film, a polarizing plate comprising such a hard coat film, and a liquid crystal display device with such a hard coat film.SOLUTION: Provided is a method of manufacturing a hard coat film having a hard coat layer on at least one side of a transparent support, the method comprising curing a hard coat layer forming composition containing at least a) to d) below to form the hard coat layer, wherein the hard coat layer forming composition contains 10-40 mass% of a); 40-89.8 mass% of b); 0.1-10 mass% of c); and 0.1-10 mass% of d) based on 100 mass% of the total solid content in the hard coat layer forming composition: a) a compound having one alicyclic epoxy group and one ethylenically unsaturated double bond group in a molecule and having a molecular weight of 300 or less; b) a compound having three or more ethylenically unsaturated double bond groups in a molecule; c) a radical polymerization initiator; and d) a cationic polymerization initiator.SELECTED DRAWING: None |
