PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To materialize an electrochemical device and a solid oxide fuel battery cell which are superior in endurance and their manufacturing methods by suppressing mutual diffusion of an element between a metal substrate and an electrode layer.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an electrochemical device having a metal substrate 2, an electrode layer 3 and an electrolytic layer 4 comprises: an electrode layer-forming step where the electrode layer 3 having gas permeability is formed on a surface of the metal substrate 2; and a baking step where after the electrode layer-forming step, the metal substrate 2 with the electrode layer 3 formed thereon is heated, thereby baking the electrode layer 3, and forming a metal oxide film 22 on the surface of the metal substrate 2.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
