PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for exposing additives at a polymer's surface, a method for incorporating additives into polymers and glass or fiber filled polymer composite materials while minimizing the amount of additives used, and a method for incorporating additives into surfaces of coatings.SOLUTION: A method for producing an article comprises: applying, to at least a portion of a molding form, a fluid comprising a population of particles that includes at least one particle having a characteristic dimension in the range from about 0.1 nm to about 100 μm; and molding a working composition using the treated molding form so as to give rise to at least one particle being at least partially or securely embedded in the working composition.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 14
