An observation device (100) comprises: a projection unit (10) that comprises a projection lens (12); an optical element (50) that is placed on an optical path connecting the projection unit and an eye to be examined, and that has an aperture; an objective lens (40) that is disposed in the aperture; and an imaging unit (60) that takes an image of the eye to be examined. The projection unit, through the projection lens, projects a projection image synthesized with an image taken by the imaging unit and a predetermined image. The projection lens is placed such that the predetermined image of the projection image is formed on the surface of the optical element, and such that the image taken by the imaging unit of the projection image is formed, through the objective lens, on the retina of the eye to be examined. |
