The conveyor elements (28) distributed around the chopper-rotor (23) are spaced apart and rotate freely on the rotor shaft (24). A freely rotating conveyor element consists of at least one first (29) and at least one further (30) arm. Along at least part of their length the arms are joined by a cross-arm (31). In the axial direction (18) of the rotor shaft the conveyor elements are in a row and at least partly flush with one another.
