Provided are an apparatus and a method of inspecting a photovoltaic module. The apparatus of inspecting the photovoltaic module of the present invention includes: a luminescent image inspecting device having a power supplying device electrically connected to both ends of an electrode of a photovoltaic module to apply a power having a preset cycle and waveform to the photovoltaic module as a turn-on or turn-off power controlling signal, and obtaining an electroluminescent image of the photovoltaic module in the outside in the daytime, thereby inspecting internal defects of the photovoltaic module; a withstand voltage/insulation resistance measuring device for measuring a withstand voltage/insulation resistance depending on a leakage current of the photovoltaic module as a test withstand voltage or a test insulation resistance is applied to the photovoltaic module; and a switching device for electrically connecting or disconnecting the photovoltaic module to or from the power supplying device of the luminescent image inspecting device and electrically connecting or disconnecting the photovoltaic module to or from the withstand voltage/insulation resistance measuring device, thereby switching a connection of electrodes between the photovoltaic module and the luminescent image inspecting device or a connection of electrodes between the photovoltaic module and the withstand voltage/insulation resistance measuring device.
