PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a power supply circuit and illumination device that have high reliability.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, there is provided a power supply circuit comprising a power conversion unit, a first control circuit, a second control circuit, and a signal transmission unit. The power conversion unit includes a switching element and converts a DC voltage to an output voltage by the switching element performing switching to supply the output voltage to a DC load. The first control circuit controls the switching element performing switching. The second control circuit has reference potential differing from that of the first control circuit. The signal transmission unit includes a light emitting unit and a light receiving unit, is provided between the first control circuit and the second control circuit, performs signal transmission between the first control circuit and the second control circuit, and decreases the output voltage when current flowing in the light receiving unit has decreased.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1 |
