Novel Use of Adapalene in Treating Esophageal Cancer and Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor

A novel use of 6-[3-(1-adamantyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt or functional derivative thereof in treating a cancer, and in particular esophageal cancer and gastrointestinal stromal tumor, is provided.

1. A method of treating a cancer in a subject comprising administering to the subject 6-[3-(1-adamantyl)-4-methoxyphenyl]-2-naphthalenecarboxylic acid or a pharmaceutical salt or derivative thereof in need of such treatment, wherein the cancer is esophageal cancer or gastrointestinal stromal tumor.
