The present disclosure relates to a transmission device, a transmission method, a reception device, a reception method and a program for enabling accurate position information to be acquired indoors. A reception device comprises: a human body communication reception unit that receives, from another device via a communication system utilizing a human body as communication medium, position determination information for allowing the position of the reception device to be determined; a position recognition unit that recognizes the current position of the reception device on the basis of the received position determination information; and a storage unit that stores the recognized current position. The present disclosure can be applied to, for example, a transmission/reception device or the like that performs communications by use of a communication system utilizing a human body as communication medium. |
