Provided is a vehicle state determination device that is capable of suitably determining the state of a vehicle from limited information, such as acceleration, obtained from sensors. The vehicle state determination device determines the operating state of the brakes of the vehicle on the basis of information obtained from an acceleration sensor. A data log unit (40) stores, over time, the acceleration (Sar) acquired from the acceleration sensor. A stop detection unit (44) issues an instruction to start determining the operating state of the brakes on the basis of the timing of the end of a braking operation, which is estimated on the basis of the fact that the amount of change in the acceleration (Sar) is less than a prescribed value. A first range selection unit (21) refers to the acceleration (Sar), which is stored in the data log unit (40), toward the past from the time at which an instruction to start determining the operating state of the brakes was issued, and establishes a period in which the acceleration (Sar) is decreasing toward the past as an exclusion period. An operation time specifying unit (23) specifies a time at which the brake operation started on the basis of changes in the acceleration (Sar) in a target period, which is a period further in the past than the exclusion period. |
