PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for synthesizing an organohydrogenpolysiloxane that has a branch point in the molecule and can suppress the production of SiOH.SOLUTION: After an organopolysiloxane oligomer of formula (1): [RSiO][RSiO][RSiO][R(OH)SiO]and a cyclic siloxane of formula (2):[RSiO] is condensed in the presence of a basic catalyst, a tetraorganohydrogendisiloxane of formula (3) is subjected to equilibration polymerization with an acidic catalyst and neutralization is performed to thereby synthesize an organohydrogenpolysiloxane represented by an average composition formula:(HRSiO)(RSiO)(RSiO)(RSiO)(R(OH)SiO)with a SiOH content of 50 ppm or less.
