<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus including a structure capable of suppressing generated mist from dissipating outside an air discharge part by highly efficiently collecting air discharge ink and mist by an inexpensive and compact air discharge receptacle. <P>SOLUTION: For a line type recording head 108, the air discharge receptacle 300 including a space for storing air discharge liquid includes a suction hole 303 sucking stored main droplet and a suction hole 304 sucking the mist. The suction holes 303, 304 are integrated into odd number sequences and even number sequences of a recording head, and are connected to suction paths 3030, 3040, 303E, 304E.
