The present invention relates to a multi-stage automatic transmission for a vehicle. The multi-stage automatic transmission for a vehicle comprises a gear train composed of six friction members comprising four simple planetary gear sets (10, 20, 30, 40), a first, a second, a third, and a fourth clutch (C1, C2, C3, C4), and a first and a second brake (B1, B2) in order to improve constant velocity traveling properties and fuel efficiency by using operating points of a low RPM zone of an engine. More specifically, ten forward shift stages and one reverse shift stage are variously realized by various arrangements of the first, the second, the third, and the fourth clutch (C1, C2, C3, C4) with respect to each rotation element of the simple planetary gear sets (10, 20, 30, 40). |
