PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method capable of reducing the quantity of a catalytic metal to be used and capable of obtaining an alcohol in good yield even under low pressure.SOLUTION: A gas containing hydrogen and carbon monoxide is brought into contact with an Rh-doped CeZr-based compound oxide on which Fe is supported, at temperature of 230°C or larger and at pressure of 48 MPa or larger. |
