The present invention provides a catheter and a catheter manufacturing method. In a catheter composed of two connected pipes, the two pipes can be connected with each other appropriately. A suction catheter has a catheter body (11). The catheter body (11) comprises: a suction pipe (14) having a suction pipe cavity (17) for sucking foreign bodies; and a wire guide pipe (15) having a wire guide pipe cavity (18) for inserting the guide wire. The suction pipe (14) is formed by melting a proximal-side suction pipe (21) and a distal-side suction pipe (22) located at distal side relative to the proximal-side suction pipe (21). A wire guide pipe (15) is arranged across the proximal-side suction pipe and the distal-side suction pipe, and has a proximal-side guide pipe (41) and a distal-side guide pipe (42) located far relative to the proximal-side guide pipe. The proximal-side guide pipe (41) is melted on the proximal-side suction pipe (21). The distal-side guide pipe (42) is melted on the distal-side suction pipe (22). |
