摘要 Burner for tungsten inert gas welding comprises an electrically connected electrode (1) as a cathode, which is conically tapered in the direction of a workpiece. At least one recess (1.1) is formed at the outer and/or inner surface of the inner hollow electrode in a distance G to the tip of the electrode oriented in direction of the workpiece. At least one recess (1.1) is formed at the outer and/or inner surface of the inner hollow electrode in a distance G to the tip of the electrode oriented in direction of the workpiece. The hollow space led through the electrode exhibits a region with different inner diameters so that a region is formed with reduced electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity and reduced wall thickness of the electrode. An independent claim is also included for the electrode for use in the burner for tungsten inert gas welding.
