A light emitting device according to an embodiment of the present invention comprises: a substrate; first to M-th light emitting cells arranged on the substrate to be separated from each other; and first to (M-1)-th connection wires connecting the first to M-th light emitting cells in series, wherein M is a positive integer greater than or equal to 2. The m-th light emitting cell includes a first conductive type semiconductor layer, an active layer, and a second conductive type semiconductor layer which are sequentially arranged on the substrate, wherein m is greater than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to M. The n-th connection wire comprises a plurality of first branch wires separated from each other, and connects a first conductive type semiconductor layer of the n-th light emitting cell and a second conductive type semiconductor layer of the (n+1)-th light emitting cell, wherein n is greater than or equal to 1 and less than or equal to (M-1). The light emitting device of the present invention can minimize or prevent a failure in operating the device caused by disconnection of the connection wire. |
