[Classes 16 and 146 (i)] A document &c. folder for use in a filing cabinet with a suspending rail on at least one of the edges of the folder, has a beading or similar guiding means on the lower long edge of the rail to receive a similar beading or member on a rider, clamp, or the like whereby the latter cannot be pulled off from above. As shown in Fig. 3, the front portion a<1> of a folder is provided with a rail b having a beading c on its front lower edge. A rider e comprising a folded member adapted to receive an index tab has on the front leg a beading d adapted to be engaged with the beading c by a lateral sliding movement, and tongues f struck out of the front leg are passed through apertures in the back leg to rest on the top edge of the rail b. In the form shown in Fig. 8, spring clamps h are used instead of riders, each clamp comprising end portions k<1> bent forwardly and downwardly, and a central portion k<11> which is bent backwardly over the top edge of the rail b. The portions k<1> have lateral indentations l and the portion k<11> has a bulge m, whereby a rail n on the back edge of another folder and laterally grooved on one side and a projection on the other can be thrust upwardly and beneath the portions k<1> and be retained therein to join the two folders together. The ends of each rail b which engage supports in a filing cabinet have one leg bent around the other leg to provide a rounded smooth edge which allows free sliding of the rail. |
