The present invention relates to a novel method for manufacturing cilastatin sodium salt, which comprises: manufacturing (Z)-7-chloro--((S)-2,2-dimethylchlopropylcarboxamido)-2-heptane acid by using hydrolase and hydrolyzing ethyl (E, Z)-7-chloro-((S)-2,2-dimethylcyclochlopropanecarboxamido)-2-heptanoate; manufacturing (Z)-7-(L-amino-2-carboxyethylthio)-2-((S)-2,2-dimethylcyclochlopropanecarboxamido)-2- heptane acid therefrome; and manufacturing cilastatin sodium salt therefrom.
