The present invention relates to a pen-type input device to perform an input process to a host apparatus. The pen-type input device comprises: a first switch placed at a tip of a pen to perform an input process of a character stroke while a character input mode is operated, and move a mouse cursor while a mouse mode is operated; a second switch configured to perform a left click procedure of a mouse, when the pen is in the mouse mode; and a third switch configured to switch an input mode of the pen-type input device.
