A gas spring 100 comprising: a housing 102; a piston 104 and piston assembly that can reciprocate within the housing 102; wherein a gas chamber is formed within the housing; wherein at a certain range of positions, the piston assembly separates the gas chamber 101 into a primary chamber and a secondary chamber 126 by a seal 106; and wherein the seal 106 is a captive seal. During the reciprocations, the first (1st) and second (2nd) compartments are repeatedly sealed from one another and fluidly joined again. |
