<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate the measurement of a residual air quantity in a brake fluid passage. <P>SOLUTION: A residual air quantity measuring method includes: a step of extending a brake fluid passage 1 to close a terminal 2 of the brake fluid passage 1 by mounting a measuring tool 10 in an opening of the terminal and making the brake fluid passage 1 communicate with an internal space 13 of the measuring tool 10; a step of injecting a brake fluid by reducing pressure in the brake fluid passage 1 and the internal space 13 of the measuring tool 10; and a step of measuring the quantity of residual air in the internal space 13 of the measuring tool 10.
