摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of providing a novel desulfurizing agent having high mechanical strength which can subject a hydrocarbon raw material to desulfurization treatment to a high degree stably for a long period.SOLUTION: A method of producing a desulfurizing agent comprises the steps of: mixing a mixture containing a copper compound, a zinc compound, and an aluminum compound with an aqueous solution of an alkaline substance to produce a precipitation; thereafter calcining the obtained precipitation to obtain a formed product of a mixture of copper oxide, zinc oxide, and aluminum oxide; thereafter impregnating the formed product with an impregnating liquid containing by a target amount at least one metal selected from the group consisting of iron and nickel; and further calcining the formed product impregnated with the impregnating liquid, where the impregnating liquid is divided into a plurality of portions, and impregnation is executed a plurality of times to impregnate the formed product.
