<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that can suppress occurrence of poor adsorption, damage of an adsorption separation unit, and deformation of an uppermost sheet. <P>SOLUTION: A sheet conveyance device includes: the adsorption separation unit that has an adsorption belt arranged opposite to a top of a sheet bundle and rotatably-stretched by a plurality of stretch rollers, and is swingably-supported to a support member at the upstream in a sheet conveyance direction farther than the adsorption belt; a charging means for charging a surface of the adsorption belt; and a swing means for swinging the adsorption separation unit with the support member as a fulcrum so as to reciprocate the adsorption belt between an adsorption position where the uppermost sheet of the sheet bundle is brought into contact and adsorbed to the adsorption belt and a conveyance position at which the uppermost sheet adsorbing to the adsorption belt is conveyed and which is spaced from the sheet bundle farther than the adsorption position. The device includes a swing stop means for stopping the adsorption separation unit swung by the swing means if a load equal to or more than a predetermined load is applied to the adsorption separation unit, when the adsorption belt comes into contact with the uppermost sheet. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
