PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a user-friendly image forming apparatus that eliminates the need of complicated settings and management of user's passwords, while maintaining the high level of security.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an encryption control unit 81 that encrypts read image data with a password. The encryption control unit 81 encrypts a password with a unique encryption key. The encryption control unit 81 creates a scanning image file 110 from an encrypted scanning image data 95 and the encrypted password. The encryption control unit 81 acquires the encrypted password from the scanning image file 110 and decrypts the password with the unique encryption key. The encryption control unit 81 displays the decrypted password on a display unit of an operation panel unit 6. |
