PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chemical decontamination method capable of removing radioactive materials attached to at least one water contact surface of a pipe and an outside reactor apparatus of a nuclear power plant due to deposition of magnesium ions and calcium ions.SOLUTION: In the case where seawater leaked at a condenser flows into a reactor pressure vessel, Mg(OH)and CaCOdeposit at the inner surface of a recirculation system pipe which is connected to the reactor pressure vessel. A carbonic water supply pipe 16 and a carbonic water return pipe 12 connected to a tank 10 are connected to the recirculation system pipe of a boiling water reactor plant. Carbon dioxide from a carbon dioxide cylinder 3 is passed through to pure water in the tank 10, and carbonic water which is to be a chemical contamination liquid is generated in the tank 10. The carbonic water circulates in the carbonic water supply pipe 16, the recirculation system pipe and the carbonic water return pipe 12, and removes Mg(OH), CaCOand radioactive materials attached to the inner surface of the recirculation system pipe. These substances are removed at a cation exchange resin tower 18. |
