PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a feeding device occupation space smaller when a drive transmission member for rotating a feed roll and a medium fed by the feed roll are present than when contact members coming into contact with the medium are supported by different members, respectively.SOLUTION: A feed roll 121 feeds paper P by rotating on an axis O1. A gear 123G has a first hollow part through which an axis O3 passes, and is rotated to rotate the feed roll. A shaft 123S, which is inserted into the first hollow part of the gear 123G, supports the gear 123G in a rotatable manner. A contact member 171 has a second hollow part into which the shaft 123S is inserted, and is supported in such a manner as to be rotatable around the axis O3 via the shaft 123S. The contact member 171 is brought into a first attitude by coming into contact with the paper P in the presence of the paper P fed by the feed roll 121, and brought into a second attitude in the absence of the paper P. A sensor box 179 detects the attitude of the contact member 171. |
