To enable an aircraft gunsight to be moved from an opperative position directly in front of the pilot to an in. operative position at the side of the cock. pit, the gunsight is mounted on one end 41 of a horizontally swingable arm 4, Fig. 2, hinged at 5 by the other end to a base plate 1 on the front of the cockpit, the arm 4 being locked in the operative position by a strut 6 pivoted to the arm 4 at 7 and formed with a wedge-shaped heel-piece 8 which is releasably locked in a correspondingly-shaped seating 9 on the base plate 1 by a spring-loaded toggle 10. Manual operation of a control handle 32 (a) releases the heel-piece 8 from its seating 9, (b) swings the arm 4 against the cockpit side, (c) folds the strut 6 against it and finally (d) locks the arm 4 in the inoperative position shown in Fig. 4.
