The present invention relates to a wasted cable treating device and a wasted cable treating method. According to an aspect of the present invention, provided is the wasted cable treating device which comprises: a cooling unit configured to cool a wasted cable including a wire and a coating member which surrounds the wire; a smashing unit configured to smash the coating member of the wasted cable cooled in the cooling unit; and a sorting unit configured to sort the coating member smashed in the smashing unit and the wire. Therefore, the wasted cable treating device can minimize environment contamination.
