Disclosed is a display device. This display device includes: a receiving unit receiving a first picture image; a storage unit storing a second picture image corresponding in size to the first picture image; a picture processing unit receiving the first picture image and the second picture image by frame unit and generating a final picture image by synthesizing the received first picture image and second picture image; and a display unit displaying the generated final picture image. The picture processing unit detects a region of the received second picture image to be synthesized with the first picture image once the entire second picture image is received, receives only partial data corresponding to the detected region with respect to the second picture image stored in the storage unit when it comes to the frame following the detection of the region, and generates the final picture image by synthesizing the received partial data with the first picture image.
