A pillar garnish mounting structure includes a tether clip and a pillar garnish. The tether clip has a tether portion. The pillar garnish is attached to a pillar by the tether clip and has a tether housing portion. The tether housing portion has side walls that extend in a longitudinal direction of the pillar garnish. The tether portion has a connecting portion and an anchor portion. The connecting portion is inserted through a space between the side walls and extends in the longitudinal direction of the pillar garnish. The anchor portion is formed on a tip end of the connecting portion, and is positioned to an outside of the tether housing portion. The anchor portion catches on end surfaces of the side walls in the longitudinal direction of the pillar garnish, when the pillar garnish moves in a direction away from the pillar. |
