SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR MEASURING 3D PROFILE OF ROAD

A system for measuring a 3D road profile and a method thereof are disclosed. The system for measuring a 3D road profile comprises: a vertical profile measuring unit, a horizontal profile measuring unit, and a 3D profile calculating unit. The vertical profile measuring unit measures a vertical profile which is a road profile of a moving direction. The horizontal profile measuring unit measures a horizontal profile which is a road profile of a direction different from the moving direction. The 3D profile calculating unit calculates a 3D profile by combining the vertical profile with the horizontal profile. By the configuration, the vertical profile and the horizontal profile are directly measured and the vertical profile and the horizontal profile are combined with each other to calculate a 3D profile, thereby obtaining an accurate 3D road profile even at low costs.
