PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for electrically insulating a rod-like or linear conductor end or en electrode end in a simple and swift manner, without interruption of electric service.SOLUTION: An end cover 21 made of insulation material having a bottomed cylindrical shape includes a folding part 25 on one open end side, and an open hole with a small diameter as a path for the discharge current on the other end with a bottom side, with an adhesive 26 on the outer peripheral side of the folding part 25. The end cover 21 is fixed to the end of an electrode 12 of an arc horn 11 on the charging side, which is exposed due to burning of an arc horn cover, so that the electrode 12 is electrically insulated. When the end cover 21 is fixed to the electrode 12, a fixing tool 28 is fitted in the end cover 21, the end cover 21 with the fixing tool 28 mounted is fitted to the electrode 12 using insulation pincers 7, and the fixing tool 28 is moved to loosen the folding of the folding part 25. The end cover 21 is thereby fixed to the electrode 12 through the adhesive 26. |
