1. An organic light-emitting diode (OLED) comprising:
an anode; a cathode; and a light emitting layer comprising at least one compound of the formula I: wherein R1 is selected from the group consisting of H, C1-6alkyl, C(O)C1-6alkyl, CN, and C(O)OC1-6alkyl; R2 is selected from the group consisting of CN, NO2, C1-6alkyl and aryl, wherein the aryl is optionally independently substituted one or more times with halogen, C1-6alkyl or OC1-6alkyl; and X− is an anion or a dianion.
