<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas-blast circuit breaker efficiently extinguishing arc and having an excellent current cut-off performance. <P>SOLUTION: A gas cut-off unit A and a current-limiting unit B are serially arranged on a conductive wire 2 and on an electric circuit. The gas cut-off unit A is provided with a drive mechanism for making a movable contact section 5 away and near a stationary contact section 4. The stationary contact section 4 and the movable contact section 5 are coaxially opposed to each other in a tank 1 filled with insulation gas. The insulation gas is sprayed to an arc generated in a current cut-off process of the gas cut-off unit A by driving the movable contact section 5 of the gas cut-off unit A. The current-limiting unit B is provided with the drive mechanism for making a movable contact section 16 away and near a stationary contact section 17. The stationary contact section and the movable contact section are coaxially opposed to each other in a container 15 filled with water. A current-limiting action occurs to the arc generated in the current cut-off process of the current-limiting unit by the water in the container 15. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2013,JPO&INPIT |
