<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas circuit breaker capable of ensuring an excellent interruption performance of small current such as a leading current, without increasing the opening time. <P>SOLUTION: The gas circuit breaker includes a counter contact part 10 and a movable contact part 20 disposed to face each other coaxially and to be brought into contact with each other or separated from each other. The counter contact part 10 has a counter arc contact 11 extending to the movable contact part 20 side. The movable contact part 20 includes a movable arc contact 21 generating arc discharge between the counter arc contact 11. Furthermore, the movable contact part 20 includes a conductive guide 27 extending to the counter contact part 10 longer than the movable arc contact 21, and is contiguous to the counter arc contact 11 at the tip.
